System specification

  • water flow through the AFM® filters, recommend < 15 m3 hr-1 m2 of filter bed surface area

  • recommended filter air purge rate 90 m3 hr-1 m2 of filter bed surface area

  • back-wash flow rate 40 to 60 m3 hr-1 m2 of filter bed surface area

  • if back-wash rates are 30 to 35 m3 hr-1 m2 then grade 0 AFM® media should be used

  • Back-wash frequency = once every week

  • Turn-over rate, 1 to 4 hours for public pools, 5 hours for private pools
